It is 1pm, your phone has not stopped beeping since 11, and both your hands are in the pot.
How much for the small chops? Do you deliver to Wuye? Is it still available?
By the time you wash your hands and start typing back, she has already ordered from somebody else.
You could hire someone at ₦50,000 a month to sit on that phone all day. Or you could let OrdoDirect reply in 2 seconds, send your menu, take the order and collect the payment while you finish cooking.
Your WhatsApp is not doing this for you. It was never built to.
There is no build queue. You are live the same day.

The cost of a slow reply
It has been measured repeatedly, across millions of enquiries, by people with far bigger sample sizes than ours.
100x
Reply within 5 minutes instead of 30 and you are roughly 100 times more likely to reach the buyer. Your odds of qualifying that buyer fall 21 times across the same half hour.
MIT and InsideSales, a study of more than 15,000 leads
You know this one. The girl who asked about your platter on Friday and never replied to your Sunday answer.
7x
Businesses that answered within the hour were nearly 7 times more likely to qualify a lead than those that waited just 60 minutes longer, and 60 times more likely than those that waited a full day.
Harvard Business Review, 2.24 million leads
Five minutes is her still walking to the car. One hour is her already eating something else.
85%
Of the customers who never get through to you, 85 percent never try again. During peak hours, between 30 and 60 percent of restaurant enquiries go unanswered.
Restaurant call handling studies
She did not complain. She did not block you. She just never asked again, and you never knew she was gone.
Those studies were run on phone calls and web forms, and direct messages are worse. A ringing phone at least demands your attention. A message sits there quietly while the competitor with a better setup is one swipe away. Between 60 and 70 percent of the messages a food business receives carry real order intent.
The order goes to somebody else
Hungry people do not wait for a reply. She asked at 1pm, you answered at 3pm, and she finished eating at 1:20pm.
You cannot hire your way out of this
A dedicated person to answer messages and take orders costs around ₦50,000 a month. That is ₦600,000 a year before you count training, and before the days they do not show up.
You are running blind, and it compounds
Your orders are scattered across four chats, a notebook and your memory. So at the end of the month you cannot say which dish actually made money, which customer is worth chasing, or whether last week was good. You are not just losing today's order. You are losing the record that would have told you what to cook more of.
Run the numbers on a mid-size Abuja restaurant
That is 11 orders lost every single day. At an average order of ₦8,000, you are leaving ₦88,000 a day on the table, which comes to roughly ₦2,600,000 a month.
This is a worked example built on the conversion rates above, not a guarantee. Put your own numbers in and the shape of it does not change.
What you are using now
You are not starting from nothing. You have a way of doing this and it has carried you this far, so let us be fair to it first. Then let us be honest about where it breaks.
Your head
Good for. It is free, it is instant, and nobody knows the business like you do.
Where it breaks. It does not scale past you. The day you travel, fall ill, or are simply in the market, the business closes. And you cannot hand it to anybody.
WhatsApp alone
Good for. It is where your customers already are, and that is genuinely the right place to be.
Where it breaks. It has no menu, no prices that stay fixed, no stock, no payment and no record. Every single order costs you six messages you type yourself.
A notebook or a spreadsheet
Good for. It is honest, and it is far better than nothing.
Where it breaks. It gets filled in after the rush, from memory, when you are tired. Nobody has ever completed one accurately on a Saturday night.
Instagram DMs
Good for. Discovery is real there, and your food looks good.
Where it breaks. The request lands in your DMs, the price goes in a comment, the address arrives as a voice note, and the payment goes nowhere until you chase it.
A website a designer built
Good for. It looks professional and you own the link.
Where it breaks. It is a poster. It shows your food. It cannot take an order, cannot collect a payment, cannot tell you anything, and it costs you money to change one price.
A storefront app
Good for. It does take orders and payments, and it is a real step up from a chat.
Where it breaks. It sells things off a shelf. Your food has portions, it finishes at 2pm, it carries add-ons and it goes cold. A general storefront does not know any of that.
Chowdeck or Glovo
Good for. They bring you customers you did not have. That is worth paying for.
Where it breaks. They keep the customer. You never learn her name, her number or what she orders, and you pay for her again next time.
Notice what every single one of them has in common. None of them can answer a customer without you. That is the job.
How it works
Send us the menu you already have. A photo of the flyer is enough. You are not going to learn any software today.
Send us your menu
A PDF, a flyer, a photo, a screenshot or a WhatsApp message. Whatever you already have is enough.
We build it for you
We create your ordering site, set up your categories and add-ons, and generate your QR code.
You receive your login
You get your OrdoDirect link, your printable QR code and full access to your dashboard.
You start taking orders
Customers browse your menu, place their order and pay for it. You watch every one of them land on your phone.
We stay
Your first week, we watch it with you. Your prices change, your menu changes, your hours change, and on Starter we make those changes for you. You do not file a ticket. You send a WhatsApp message.
You were in the kitchen the whole time.
Your menu, your control
The price of tomatoes went up, so jollof has to move from ₦3,500 to ₦4,000. That change should take seconds and cost you nothing. On most setups it takes a week and costs you again.
We make the change for you
Send us the new price, the new photo, or the item you have run out of, and we will update it for you the same day. There is no charge for a change and no limit on how many you send us.
You make the change yourself, in 10 seconds
Open your dashboard on your phone, change the number, and it is live before you put the phone back down. Upload a new photo of the puff puff yourself. Switch the chicken off until tomorrow. Do it as many times a day as you need to.
Other setups charge you a one-off build fee and then bill you again for every update after that. Some charge around ₦5,000 to change a single price. Make 10 small changes in a year and you have paid for the build twice over.
Where this goes
Every order that comes through OrdoDirect is recorded properly. Not in a chat, not in a notebook. What sold, at what price, to whom, at what time, and how long it took to go out.
That record is worth more than the order. It is what tells you that jollof is 40 percent of your sales and half your continental menu is decoration. That Thursday evening is your real rush, not Saturday. That the customer who ordered four times in January has not been back since.
You cannot buy that. You can only gather it, and you have to start gathering it before it is worth anything.
Everything on the right is being built on the record you start keeping the day you go live. It arrives in your dashboard as it ships, and you do not pay more for it.
Proof
I was paying a girl 70,000 a month to answer DMs and pack food at the same time. By 1pm we would have 30 unread messages, and half of those people were already eating somewhere else. Now the link goes out the second they message us. Last month we did 214 orders through it and my staff barely touched the phone.
Every customer asked me the same 3 things. What do you have today. How much is it. Do you deliver to Lugbe. I typed those same answers from morning till night. The page carries all of it now. I went from 90 messages a day to about 15, and those 15 are real questions.
People used to order, I would cook it, and then their number would go off. Some weeks I threw away 8 or 9 packs. Now nobody enters my kitchen queue without paying first. Since we started I have not cooked a single order that was not already paid for.
Customers would send a voice note, my brother would hear it wrong, and we would deliver velvet cake instead of vanilla. Then the customer is shouting at us and we are refunding her money. Now the order comes written out, item by item, with the address attached. We have not had a wrong delivery in 2 months.
I ran this place for 3 years on gut feeling and I could not have told you which meal made the most money. Now every order is recorded. One dish turned out to be 40 percent of my sales. Another one I was cooking every single day was only selling 4 times a week, so I cut it. My food cost dropped and nobody noticed it was gone.

Already on Chowdeck?
A delivery app does one thing very well. It puts your food in front of somebody who has never heard of you, and that introduction is genuinely worth paying for.
Now look at who actually orders from you. Most of them are the same faces. The woman who had your jollof last Friday. The office that orders every Thursday. They already know your name, your food and your prices.
You are still paying a quarter of every one of those plates to be introduced to people you have already met.
On ₦3,000,000 of orders in a month, a delivery app keeps between ₦600,000 and ₦900,000.
That is a cook's salary for a full year, paid to a middleman, on customers who already knew exactly where to find you.

FAQ
Getting started
You send us your menu and you are live the same day. There is no build queue and nobody has to schedule you in.
Yes, and they will outperform stock images. Clear daylight photos of the food you actually cook sell better than anything we could buy. Send them on WhatsApp and we will place them for you.
No. Everything runs from your phone, including your dashboard, your orders and your prices.
No. If you can send a WhatsApp message you can run this. We handle the setup and hand you a login that already works.
That is normal for a food business and it costs you nothing either way. The menu control section above explains exactly what Starter and Growth each get.
Your customers
No. They tap your link and order in their browser, the same way they open any other website. If she can open Instagram, she can order from you.
OrdoDirect replies at 2am. She receives your welcome message and your menu link, places her order and pays for it, and you see all of it when you wake up. If you would rather not take overnight orders, set your opening hours and OrdoDirect will tell her when you open.
She still can. The thread is your normal WhatsApp, so OrdoDirect only answers first to make sure nobody is left waiting. You can step into any conversation whenever you want.
Yes. Every account comes with a QR code you can print for your tables, add to a flyer or drop into your Instagram bio. All of them open the same ordering page.
Menu and stock
You switch it off and it disappears from your menu until you switch it back on. No customer can order efo you no longer have.
Yes. A bundle is a single item at a single price, set below the sum of its parts, and it shows up in the cart as one line. A 3 item combo will not confuse your customer or your kitchen.
Yes, and you should. Most Nigerian dishes are cooked to order, so forcing a count on all of them guarantees the numbers will be wrong. Put a count on the things that genuinely run out, like cakes or packs of small chops, and leave everything else untracked.
Yes. Add-ons and options sit under each item with their own prices, and the total is calculated on our server rather than on the customer's phone.
Money
Your customer pays at checkout through Paystack and the money settles into your own bank account. You are no longer chasing screenshots of transfers before you start cooking.
Yes. Opay, Moniepoint, Kuda, PalmPay and Paga all work as payout destinations, along with every commercial bank. You do not need a corporate account.
Only on card payments, and the rate depends on the plan you choose. Cash, transfer and WhatsApp orders are never charged.
Yes. Cash and transfer are both supported and neither costs you anything. Card is an option you turn on, not a requirement.
No. Every order is priced again on our server against your live menu before it is accepted, so a tampered total is rejected. We have tested this by attacking it rather than assuming it.
No. We need your business name, your bank and your account number, and that is all.
On Starter there is no monthly, so nothing happens. On Growth and Full Setup you drop back to Starter. Your site stays up, your orders keep coming and you keep your customer records. We do not hold your business hostage.
Running the business
Yes. You get daily sales, order counts, your average order value and your best sellers over the last 30 days, all counted in your own timezone rather than in UTC.
Yes, and it builds itself as you sell. Every order records the customer's name, phone number, what they spent and when they last ordered. The list is yours and you can export it.
Yes. You set your zones and their fees once, and the right fee is applied at checkout so there is no argument at the door.
On Full Setup, yes. Your staff get their own accounts, so you can always see who handled what.
Yes, on Full Setup. Each branch runs its own menu, prices and order board, and nothing from one branch is visible to the other.
Compared to what you use now
WhatsApp stays. Your customers still message you there and your order link still goes out there. What changes is that you stop typing the same six messages all day, and the order arrives already priced, already paid for and already written down.
Those apps sell products off a shelf, and they do it well. Food is not a shelf. A plate has portions, add-ons, a stock count that hits zero at 2pm and a delivery window. OrdoDirect is built for the plate. If your current store is working for you, keep it and run us alongside it for a month.
Then you have a poster with your food on it, and that is worth something. Ask it one question: can a customer order and pay on it at 11pm without you touching your phone? If yes, you may not need us. If no, that is the gap we close.
It does work, until the day you travel or fall ill. Then the business closes, because nobody else can run it. The point of writing it down is not distrust of your memory. It is that the business should be able to sell food on a day you are not there.
The delivery apps, and leaving
Those apps own the customer relationship, not you. Their customer never becomes your customer, and they take a cut of every plate you sell. OrdoDirect is your own storefront, so anyone who orders from your link joins your list and you keep what you sell. Most vendors run both, and that is the sensible thing to do.
Your ordering page is already a full page for your business, carrying your name, your photos and your prices. Full Setup adds a design built specifically around your brand.
You cancel from your dashboard. There is no call to make and no notice period to serve, and you can export your menu and your customer list on the way out.
Send us your menu today and you will be taking orders before the day is over.
